Today we are highlighting Chef Boyar Dru, Producer/Engineer who is a part of the supergroup 1500ornothin. He has worked with Kodak, Jack Harlow, Saweetie, Roy Woods, Nav, and many more.
Q: How did you get your producer name?
A: I got my name from grilling burgers at a 420 event... and it was so funny it stuck with me.
Q: What was your first record placement?
A: Kodak black I wanna live ... shout out to Nova Wave and TrapMoneyBenny for letting me be a part.
Q: What is the biggest lesson you learned while working in the music industry?
A: The biggest lesson I have learned is that you have to want it more than anything else if you really want to make it.
Q: What makes you stand out from other producers?
A: My ability to teach, share and elevate every room that I walk in.
Q: What is your favorite record you placed and why?
A: They are all my favorites... the fact that people listen to my music that I put my heart and soul into really makes me happy.
Q: Where are you from, and how did it mold you into the person you are today?
A: I'm originally from Indiana and moved to LA about 5-6 years ago. I think being from Indiana gave me the advantage because I knew how special it was to be able to move to a place where what was just a dream in Indiana is a reality in LA.
Q: What is your favorite DAW and your favorite plug-in to use? Why?
A: Ableton gang !!!!! I love Ableton because I can get my ideas out and on the computer faster than any other DAW!
Q: What makes you a hot producer?
A: Because when you try 'n touch me you're gonna burn yourself.
